In order to clean your Instapure water filter cartridge you will need the following: a damp cloth, soft sponge, and a can of compressed air. Please note: the can of compressed air is not included in this basic cleaning kit.

You can buy the Can of Compressed Air separately if you want, but for our purposes, it will save us time to buy the can in advance, and simply get what we need now. The filter cartridge and the Can of Compressed Air can be bought at any home supply store.

Once the filter housing is loosened and the filter cartridge is removed, you can rinse the entire unit out with a hose or with some water, whichever is convenient for you. Rinse it out really well, as bacteria and other material are more likely to collect in the inner workings of the cartridge if it is not rinsed out properly.

Reinsert the filter housing and screw the cartridge back into the filter housing. Then screw the filter housing firmly into place again.
